Frequently asked questions
Are these calendars really free? +
Yes. Every template on AcademicCalPro is free for personal, classroom, and parent-teacher organization use. There is no email gate, no watermark, and no trial period. The Word and Excel versions are unlocked so you can edit any field.
Can I edit the dates if my district has different ones? +
Absolutely. Open the Word or Excel version, click directly on the date or label you want to change, type the new value, and save. The grid layout will not move. The PDF version is intentionally not editable — use it when you want a print that exactly matches the screen preview.
Why are calendars organized by academic year instead of calendar year? +
Schools and universities run on academic years (typically August through July or September through August), not on January-to-December. Organizing this way means you only need one template for an entire school year instead of two partial-year ones.
Do you cover both US and UK school years? +
Yes. We model both the US K-12 + college pattern (Labor Day opening, two semesters or four quarters, May/June graduation) and the UK three-term pattern (autumn, spring, summer terms with half-terms in between).
Can I post these on a classroom or office wall? +
Yes. The PDF version is laid out for clean US Letter and A4 printing in both color and black-and-white. The PNG image version is best for posting in chat apps and on a school website.
Do you support homeschool families? +
Yes — we have a dedicated set of homeschool calendars covering 36-week, 4-day, year-round, and unit-study models. Browse them under Grade Levels → Homeschool.
How often is the data updated? +
New academic-year templates are added each summer once school districts publish their calendars. Existing templates remain available so you can reference past years.
